Google Launches Search Live: Real-Time Conversations via Voice and Camera
Google has introduced a new feature called Search Live, now available in English in the United States. This innovation brings real-time, camera-aware conversations to the Google app on Android and iOS.
Search Live can be accessed through two entry points: the Google app and Google Lens. In the Google app, users can start a voice conversation and optionally enable video input. In Lens, camera sharing is on by default, allowing users to immediately ask questions about their surroundings.
Rajan Patel, VP of Engineering for Search at Google, announced the launch on X. With Search Live, queries move from typed text to camera and voice, providing answers while users are actively engaged in tasks. Google highlights practical scenarios such as hands-free trip planning, quick how-to guidance, step-by-step troubleshooting, and support for school projects. Local businesses are advised to keep storefront photos, product imagery, and key details current as people can now point, ask, and get links in real time.
Search Live is now available in the United States, transforming how users interact with Google. By combining voice and camera input, it offers immediate, hands-free assistance. Businesses should ensure their online presence is up-to-date to take full advantage of this new feature.
