Google's AI Chat Feature Rolls Out to Over 40 Countries

Google has rolled out its AI-powered chat feature, initially launched in the USA, Great Britain, and India, to over 40 countries, including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Thailand. This new tool, part of Google's AI development efforts, uses Gemini Pro 2.5, a special version of Google's AI system, to provide detailed, accurate answers to user queries without long wait times.

The AI mode, activated as an additional tab in the conventional Google search, replaces long link lists with detailed responses to users' questions. It allows users to interact with search results, enabling more specific queries, such as planning a weekend in Edinburgh with particular interests. Google representatives have noted that source references linking to high-quality offers are still well clicked, based on initial experiences from the USA and Great Britain.

However, publishers and companies marketing products via Google links have expressed concern about decreased traffic due to the AI mode. Google aims to address these concerns by ensuring that the AI mode provides accurate, relevant information while maintaining the integrity of its search results.

Google's AI mode, powered by Gemini Pro 2.5, is now available in over 40 countries. It offers users a more interactive search experience, providing detailed answers to queries and allowing for more specific questions. While there are concerns about decreased traffic for publishers and companies, Google continues to refine the AI mode to balance user experience with the needs of its partners.
