Green Energy Venture: FRV Teams Up with Envision for Hydrogen Production in Brazil
In a significant step towards a low-carbon economy, Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) and Envision Energy have joined forces to develop the H2 Cumbuco green ammonia project in Brazil. Located at the strategic Port of Pecém, this project aims to build a large-scale green hydrogen and ammonia production facility.
The project, scheduled for operational status by 2030, will feature an electrolysis plant with up to 500 MW capacity integrated with an ammonia plant. This cutting-edge facility will utilise 100% renewable energy sources managed by Envision’s advanced AI-integrated renewable energy systems.
The green ammonia produced will cater to key markets in Brazil, Europe, and Asia, supporting Brazil’s strategy to develop a competitive low-carbon economy and export clean energy products globally.
FRV, with its extensive experience in renewable energy and storage assets worldwide, brings a 3 GW portfolio to the table. Envision, renowned for its expertise in integrating wind, solar, and green hydrogen systems orchestrated by AI technologies, adds a complementary skillset to the partnership.
The project's location in the Pecém Port area is advantageous, as it is crucial for export and the development of Brazil's chemical industry. This collaboration serves as a blueprint for the global energy transition, with a focus on scalability and replicability of clean energy solutions.
FRV has been developing the H2 Cumbuco project in Brazil since 2023 and has secured key resources, including land and water rights. Envision Energy was selected for its leadership and expertise in total renewable energy systems, including green hydrogen.
FRV, a leading developer of sustainable energy solutions, boasts a strong presence in Europe, Australia, the Middle East, and Latin America. The company sees Brazil as a country with the potential to become a global leader in renewable hydrogen and its derivatives.
