DayOne and Gaw Capital Partners Break Ground on 80MW Hyperscale Data Center Campus in Tokyo

DayOne, a Singapore-based company that develops and operates next-gen digital infrastructure, and Gaw Capital Partners have recently broken ground on Phase One of their 80MW hyperscale data center campus in Tokyo, Japan. Located in Fuchu Intelligent Park, a well-established data center cluster less than 30km from central Tokyo, the campus is poised to become one of the largest data center developments in Fuchu City in terms of IT load.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by senior representatives from DayOne, Gaw Capital, United Overseas Bank, Crédit Agricole Bank, HASEKO Corporation, and NEC Facilities.

Phase One Details

Phase One of the campus consists of a nine-story building featuring ten data halls with an IT capacity of 18MW. The main contractor is HASEKO Corporation, and NEC Facilities serves as the architect. The aim is to achieve leading ESG and operational certifications, including CASBEE, LEED, and ISO50001 Energy Management.

The facility integrates advanced cooling technologies and harnesses renewable energy sources to enhance energy efficiency. Phase One is targeted to be core and shell ready by mid-2027.

The collaboration between DayOne and Gaw Capital merges Gaw Capital's global real estate experience with DayOne's expertise in operating high-performance data centers.
