Gun Enthusiasts Share Preferred Carry Methods: From Pocket to Purse

Gun enthusiasts and instructors, Roger, Grace, Mel, Jay, and Julie, share their preferred methods of carrying firearms, each with unique considerations based on their lifestyle and experience.

Roger, a 68-year-old retired software engineer, is a fan of pocket carry due to its simplicity and speed. He uses a DeSantis SuperFly pocket holster for his Glock 43, and for a more secure fit, he also employs a Crossbreed in-the-waistband holster. Grace, a 35-year-old NRA instructor, prefers appendix carry for its comfort and quick draw, even with the challenge of tucking in shirts or wearing tight clothes. She uses a 'We the People' kydex-style, inside-the-waistband holster for her SIG Sauer P365XL, equipped with a Holosun red-dot optic and a Streamlight TLR-7 Sub flashlight.

Mel, a 48-year-old managing editor, prefers purse or bag carry due to her small stature and the difficulty of on-body carry. She carries a Ruger LCR .327 Fed. Mag. revolver in a dedicated carry compartment with a hook-and-loop holster. Jay, a 53-year-old executive editor, carries a Lone Wolf Dusk 19 with a Trijicon RMR HD red-dot optic in a KSG Armory Lexington kydex in-the-waistband holster at the 1 o'clock position. Julie, a 65-year-old NRA instructor, carries a SIG Sauer P365 in a kydex holster attached via hook-and-loop patches in a Travelon waist pack, also carrying essentials like a spare magazine, bleed gauze, a tourniquet, and a flashlight.

Each individual's choice of carry method reflects their personal needs and preferences, with factors such as comfort, ease of concealment, and accessibility playing significant roles. Despite the diversity in methods, all share a commitment to responsible and safe firearm handling.
