Halewood's Bristol Rum Distillery: A Must-Visit for Enthusiasts

Halewood Wines & Spirits opened the Bristol & Bath Rum Distillery in September 2019, bringing a unique rum experience to Park Street, Bristol. The distillery, housed in an iconic building, is part of Halewood's strategy to make Dead Man's Fingers Spiced Rum more accessible worldwide.

The distillery boasts two copper stills: a 500-litre rum still and a 200-litre gin still. It produces the popular Dead Man's Fingers Spiced Rum, sold globally. The venue's design incorporates reclaimed materials and industrial finishes, with street art adding a touch of Bristol's vibrant culture.

Visitors can learn about craft rums and their origins at the distillery. Premium rums like Dictador (sold at Harrods for around £1,300) and Rum Sixty-Six are featured. The Rum School allows visitors to distil their own rum, providing a hands-on experience.

The bar offers over 200 different rums from various countries, catering to every taste. John Barrett, the managing director, runs the distillery personally alongside his son-in-law Simon Askey.

The Bristol & Bath Rum Distillery combines craft rum production, education, and a unique tasting experience. With its prime location, distinctive design, and extensive rum selection, it has become a must-visit destination for rum enthusiasts in Bristol and beyond.
