Honda unveils its first electric motorcycle on a global scale on the 2nd of September.

Honda is set to unveil its first large-capacity electric motorcycle on September 2, 2025. However, an India launch is not expected in the near term, with the initial release scheduled for Europe and other developed markets.

The upcoming Honda electric motorcycle is set to offer performance comparable to a 500cc gasoline motorcycle, with an estimated power output around 50 bhp and significantly more torque than typical bikes in this class. The motorcycle's design cues are based on the EV Fun concept, showcased by Honda in 2024, featuring a sporty seating position with clip-on handlebars.

Other key features of the new Honda electric motorcycle include a large TFT digital instrument display, wide daytime running lights (DRL), and bar-end mirrors. It will also support CCS2 fast charging, similar to electric cars, which enables quicker recharge times. The motorcycle is expected to be a mid-sized, sporty electric bike rather than a scooter or low-speed commuter model.

While Honda continues to focus on smaller electric scooters like the Activa e for the Indian market, the upcoming electric motorcycle is a different product altogether. The Activa e electric scooter, one of the locally made electric scooters by Honda in India, targets urban commuters with a range of about 102 km and top speed of 80 kmph.

In the domestic Indian market, Honda is also introducing the QC1 and Activa e electric scooters. Other electric bikes in the market include the Kinetic Green DX, Hero eMaestro, and the ADMS EVA, all priced between ₹1.11 Lakhs and ₹1.35 Lakhs.

The teaser for the new Honda electric motorcycle shows LED DRL, bar-end mirrors, clip-on handlebars, and a large TFT screen. More details about the new Honda electric motorcycle will be available in the coming days. The Ultraviolette F77 electric bike, a competitor to the upcoming Honda e-bike, is already on sale in Europe.
