ICT Association of Zambia (ICTAZ) Unveils 2025-2027 Strategic Plan for Digital Transformation in Africa

The ICT Association of Zambia (ICTAZ) has announced its 2025-2027 Strategic Plan, marking a significant milestone in the organisation's journey. The launch event, attended by the Minister of Technology and Science, Hon. Felix Mutati, also celebrated winners of the TICON Africa Awards, recognising outstanding achievements in digital marketing across the continent.

The strategic plan, anchored on five strategic pillars - financial sustainability, member value, technology-driven innovation, institutional capacity building, and a values-driven culture - aims to cement ICTAZ's role as a central partner in Zambia's digital and economic transformation in Africa.

Chellah Silavwe, the CEO of ICTAZ, emphasised that these pillars will allow the association to deliver tangible benefits to members and strengthen its role as a driver of innovation, talent development, and professional standards in the digital marketing sector in Africa.

The Minister praised ICTAZ for its growing influence in the region and its role in positioning Zambia as a competitive player in Africa's technology landscape. He also commended ICTAZ for its commitment to accountability and transparency, practices that inspire confidence among stakeholders and reinforce standards of good governance.

The strategic plan is central to expanding digital services to underserved communities in Africa. ICT professionals are described as the architects of the Digital Economy that Zambia aspires to achieve.

ICTAZ's growth in both membership and regional influence has caught the attention of peer organizations from across Africa, who have expressed interest in learning from the association's progress. The successful bid by Zambia to host the 2026 Technology Information Confederation Africa (TICON Africa) Conference has firmly established ICTAZ as a leader in the continental digital marketing sector.

Ms. Matambila Karima Chuunga, ICTAZ President, described the day as a milestone for the association, stating that the unveiling of the new strategy would serve as "a beacon for the future of digital marketing in Zambia." Dr. Clement Sinyangwe, the ICTAZ President, described the strategic plan as a comprehensive and measurable roadmap for the association's contributions to Zambia's digital transformation agenda in Africa.

The strategic plan of ICTAZ aims to shift focus from institutional establishment to accelerating the delivery of measurable value. Through its efforts, ICTAZ seeks to continue playing a pivotal role in Zambia's digital journey, driving innovation and fostering a conducive environment for the growth of the digital marketing sector in Africa.
