The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has announced the fifth edition of the National Startup Awards (NSA), a significant part of the Startup India program. This edition aims to identify and honour startups that demonstrate economic success, sustainability, scalability, and social impact.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the National Startup Awards 2025, startups must first be recognized by the DPIIT. To achieve this recognition, startups must be within 10 years of incorporation. Additionally, startups must demonstrate innovation and significant contributions to sustainability, scalability, and social impact. The awards cover a wide range of sectors, including agriculture, fintech, health, clean energy, aerospace, education, cybersecurity, and accessibility.

Application Process

Startups can apply through the official National Startup Awards portal. The application deadline has been extended to July 5, 2025, providing additional time for startups to refine their submissions. Startups need to submit detailed applications that highlight their innovative solutions, scalability, and social impact, ensuring alignment with the award criteria.

The evaluation process involves eligibility screening, sector-wise shortlisting, and in-depth assessment by expert panels comprising industry leaders and government officials. Innaumation Medical Devices was recognized for its innovative voice prosthesis and featured at the Tata Social Enterprise Challenge and international forums. Micob participated in the 'President with Startups' initiative and secured defence orders through iDEX. Blackfrog Technologies' WHO-prequalified Emvolio vaccine carrier is now used across 16 Indian states and in countries like Kenya and Nigeria.
