Lynk & Co 07 EM-P PHEV: A Luxurious Ride with Innovative Features

The Lynk & Co 07 EM-P PHEV model, a joint venture between Geely and Volvo, is making waves in the automotive industry with its unique blend of luxury and technology.

One of the standout features of the 07 EM-P is the Co Pad system, a first-of-its-kind tech feature designed specifically for rear passengers. Unlike traditional rear-mounted screens found in many cars, the Co Pad system offers more than just entertainment. It integrates advanced functionality such as heating, ventilation, massage on the rear seats, a foldable table, and a built-in refrigerator. This makes the rear passenger experience more luxurious and interactive.

The Co Pad system allows rear seat occupants to control windows, air conditioning, and ambient lighting from pads mounted on the rear of the front seats. It is part of a multi-screen interconnected entertainment ecosystem, capable of connecting with the central control screen, digital instrument, AR-HUD, mobile phone, and Co Pad.

The 07 EM-P comes equipped with a 15.4-inch central screen, a 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster, and a massive 92-inch AR-HUD. The sound system, developed in collaboration with Harman Kardon, boasts 23 speakers, support for 7.1.4 multi-channel, and a power of 2080W.

In terms of performance, the 07 EM-P PHEV model is powered by a 1.5T four-cylinder engine, BHE15-BFZ, with a power output of 120 kW. The front axle is equipped with a 160 kW electric motor, providing a maximum torque of 350 Nm. The combined system torque stands at 615 Nm.

The combined range under CLTC is said to be an impressive 1,400 km. However, further details about the PHEV system have not been announced yet.

The Lynk & Co 07 EM-P PHEV model is set to start pre-sales at the Beijing Auto Show next month and deliveries in May. The forthcoming all-electric Lynk & Co Zero may share similar interior features with the 07 EM-P PHEV model.

It is worth noting that the Geely founder Eric Li bought mobile phone producer Meizu in 2022, and the Lynk & Co Co Pad system uses Meizu's technology for connectivity between different phone brands and the car's HMI.

As for whether rear occupants would prefer to use the Co Pad system or their own phones for entertainment remains unanswered. However, the integrated approach of the Co Pad system is clearly targeting a premium segment with both experiential comfort and digital innovation integrated together.
