iOS 26 Brings Enhanced Call Screening Options to iPhone

Apple has rolled out iOS 26, bringing a host of new features to compatible iPhone models. The update, released on Sept. 15, 2023, introduces a Liquid Glass redesign, new ringtones, and enhanced call screening options for the iPhone 16 and other models.

iOS 26 supports all iPhone models that can run the updated software, including the latest iPhone 17 series, iPhone Air, and older models like the iPhone SE (2nd generation or later).

The standout feature is the improved call screening. Users can now choose between three options under 'Screen Unknown Callers' in Settings > Apps > Phone. The 'Silence' option sends unsaved numbers directly to voicemail without ringing or notification. The 'Ask Reason for Calling' option asks callers why they are calling and notifies the user with a transcript. This feature is recommended for most users, balancing spam call blocking with important call allowance. The 'Never' option allows calls from unsaved numbers to ring and appear in the Recents list.

iOS 26 offers expanded call screening options, providing users more control over unsaved numbers. The update is available on all iPhone models supporting iOS 26, offering a range of new features and improvements.
