Swiss watchmaker IWC Schaffhausen has unveiled two striking new additions to its Pilot's Watches TOP GUN family. The Lake Tahoe Edition flaunts a sharp white ceramic case and stark black dial, while the Woodland Edition boasts a rugged dark green ceramic case and matching dial, complemented by matte black Ceratanium pushers, crown, and case back. These masterpieces are engineered with the brand's 69380 calibre movement, and a limited run of just 1,000 pieces is set for production for each.
Hailing from the series that celebrates the elite U.S. Navy Fighter Weapons School, the TOP GUN collection has gained notoriety for its robust materials, specifically, ceramic, renowned for its durability and scratch resistance. The TOP GUN collection takes inspiration from the rigorous training environments and iconic landscapes where aviators sharpen their skills, like Lake Tahoe's snowy peak and vast, rugged terrains.
Design and Features
Inspired by military flight suits and cased in striking ceramic, the Lake Tahoe Edition flaunts a green dial with light hue numerals and hour markers. The matte black Ceratanium pushers and case back add a perfect contrast. The watch comes with a green textile-lined strap for a fashion-forward appearance.
The Woodland Edition, although not explicitly mentioned in the latest releases, takes inspiration from camouflage environments and stealth gear. A hypothetical Woodland Edition could share the same technical features as other TOP GUN models, boasting chronograph functionality and a robust construction.
