Jax Sheets Founder Wen Muenyi Seeks $212K on Shark Tank, But No Bites
Entrepreneur Wen Muenyi pitched her innovative bedding product, Jax Sheets, on Shark Tank. She sought $212,000 for a 10% stake in her company, but none of the Sharks made an offer due to concerns about customer acquisition costs and profit margins.
Wen founded Jax Sheets after noticing single men wash their bed sheets infrequently. Her sheets, made from a unique bamboo copper blend, stay fresh and crisp for over a year without washing. They launched successfully on Kickstarter, generating $350,000 in sales. However, inventory issues halted further sales until recently.
Jax Sheets are now sold as a division under Wen's company, HercLeon, alongside products like Luna Linens for Menopause and Jax Sheets Duvet Covers. Wen also introduced a line of laundry-free clothing. Despite the company's success and positive customer reviews, the Sharks were hesitant due to the high customer acquisition cost and unclear profit margins.
