New Colorways for John Mayer's SE Silver Sky Guitar by PRS

PRS Guitars has refreshed the SE version of John Mayer's signature guitar, the Silver Sky, with four all-new solid-color finishes: Laurel Green, Derby Red, Trad Blue, and Dandy Lion. The new colorways, inspired by traditional American fashion, aim to offer a blend of bold and time-tested hues that align with Mayer’s personal style.

The SE Silver Sky Rosewood model now includes the vibrant Laurel Green, Derby Red, Trad Blue, and the eye-catching Dandy Lion (a bright yellow). The maple fretboard version also features finishes previously exclusive to the rosewood fingerboard, such as Moon White, Stone Blue, Summit Purple, and Nylon Blue.

The SE Silver Sky remains a formidable guitar, offering a lot for its price. With solid poplar bodies and bolted-on multi-ply maple necks featuring a John Mayer signature 635JM profile, the guitar delivers a seductive and affordable version of one of the 21st century's most successful guitar designs.

The electric guitar features a five-way blade-style selector switch, with master volume and two tone knobs. One tone knob exclusively serves the bridge pickup, while the other serves both the middle and neck pickups. The guitar also includes a 2-point steel tremolo system, vintage-style nickel tuners, a synthetic bone nut, a multi-ply white pickguard, and it all ships in a padded gig bag.

Shinedown's Zach Myers has even reliced his Silver Sky, suggesting that the guitar can be aged to suit personal preference. The guitar also boasts vintage-voiced 635JM single-coil electric guitar pickups, ensuring a classic tone.

John Mayer, known for his long-standing signature collaboration with Casio's G-SHOCK line of watches, expressed his excitement about sharing the new SE Silver Sky colorways with the world. The guitar is available for just £/$849 street, making it a serious electric guitar for under £/$1000.
