Lancashire's Traffic Revolution: LCC Partners with Yunex Traffic for Advanced UTMC Solution
Lancashire County Council (LCC) has partnered with Yunex Traffic to deploy the latter's Stratos Urban Traffic Management and Control (UTMC) solution. This collaboration aims to enhance traffic management and improve safety on Lancashire's roads.
The new UTMC system will integrate seamlessly with LCC's Data Platform, offering a comprehensive view of accidents, incidents, and events occurring on the county's roads. It will also connect to external data sources, including National Highways' Collaborative Traffic Management system, providing full visibility of the network's signs and displayed messages.
Yunex Traffic, with prior successful implementations in cities like Birmingham, Manchester, and Nottingham, will provide ongoing expert support services under a three-year contract. The Stratos UTMC solution will not only manage LCC's UTC systems but also realise synergies with other Council projects. Additionally, Yunex has announced potential enhancements to the UTMC core functionality, including Floating Vehicle Data based Journey Time monitoring.
LCC's partnership with Yunex Traffic promises to revolutionise traffic management in Lancashire. The new UTMC system, linked to various data sources and supported by Yunex's expertise, will provide a holistic view of the road network, enabling timely responses to incidents and improving overall traffic flow.
