In the heart of France, nestled outside Paris, lies the historic Château d'Hérouville. This château has a rich history of hosting legendary music recording sessions, with artists such as Elton John, David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, and The Bee Gees gracing its halls.

Originally built in 1740, the château was transformed into a residential studio in the 1970s by film composer Michel Magne. It became a legendary studio, renowned for its unique acoustics and the distinctive sound of its 1901 Steinway B Grand Piano.

After closing its doors in 1985, the château remained abandoned for three decades. In 2015, musicians Jean Taxis and Thierry Garacino embarked on a mission to revive the château, not just as a building, but as a creative environment. Their passion led to the restoration of the château, which was completed in 2020.

During the restoration, the unique piano was carefully refurbished, preserving its 124-year-old character rather than making it "perfect." This piano, central to the studio's historic sound, inspired artists who recorded there.

Jean Taxis and Thierry Garacino, in collaboration with Spitfire Audio, digitally captured the piano’s iconic sound with meticulous multi-microphone sampling. The result is the Château Piano plug-in, a virtual instrument that aims to provide users with a versatile tool for creating music with the sound of the iconic piano from the Château d'Hérouville studio.

The Château Piano plug-in offers users a selection of virtual microphones to use and a variety of built-in effects. It is expected to be a valuable tool for musicians and producers seeking to replicate the unique sound of the Château d'Hérouville studio's 1901 Steinway B Grand Piano.

The Steinway B piano is known for its bright and punchy sound when played fortissimo and its delicate, intimate elegance under a lighter touch. The Château Piano plug-in aims to recreate this unique sound, providing a digital tribute to the legendary Château d'Hérouville studio.

For a limited time, there is a 20% discount available for the Château Piano plug-in at Spitfire's website until August 18, 2025. This offer is a testament to the dedication of Jean Taxis, Thierry Garacino, and Spitfire Audio in preserving and sharing the sonic heritage of the Château d'Hérouville studio.

In summary, the Château Piano plug-in is more than just a digital instrument—it is a celebration of cultural heritage, a tribute to the legacy of the Château d'Hérouville studio, and a source of inspiration for new generations of musicians and producers.
