Latest Information on Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 — Details Surface About the Thinnest Foldable Phone on the Market Yet

The tech world is abuzz with anticipation for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, with pre-orders expected to start on July 9, 2025, and the official sale date around July 23 or July 25.

According to the latest leaks, Samsung may keep the prices for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 similar to last year's model, meaning little to no increase from the Galaxy Z Fold 6 pricing. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to be available for purchase starting at $1,899.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is rumoured to be a sleek device, with a thickness of 8.9mm when folded and as little as 3.9mm when open, making it a portable powerhouse. The device is also expected to boast a larger foldable display, measuring 8.2 inches, an upgrade from the previous 7.6 inches.

Under the hood, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, ensuring smooth performance. The device is also set to be one of the first to use Samsung's One UI 8, the customized Android 16 UI, which is set to debut on Samsung's newest foldables this summer.

In terms of photography, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to have a significant upgrade, with a 200MP main camera, a departure from the typically 50MP main camera. The device will also feature a 12MP ultrawide, 10MP telephoto (3x optical), 10MP front-facing selfie camera with a 100-degree wide-angle lens, and a 4MP under-display selfie camera.

Samsung typically holds two Galaxy Unpacked events each year, with the second event usually happening halfway through the year and featuring the company's latest Galaxy Z Fold and Flip foldable phones. The second Galaxy Unpacked events of the last two years have both fallen within July, and this year is no exception. The summer Unpacked event for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is scheduled for July 9, 2023, at 10 a.m. Eastern.

While there have been rumours of a price hike for the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, it seems more likely that Samsung will unveil a higher-end foldable, such as a Z Flip Ultra or Z Fold Ultra. The cover screen of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to be 6.5 inches, an upgrade from the previous 6.3 inches.

It's also worth noting that Samsung has confirmed that One UI 8 "will debut on Samsung's newest foldables this summer," making the Z Fold 7 one of the first devices to use the new customized Android 16 UI.

While the exact release date for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 has not been officially announced by Samsung, the device's expected launch in mid-July 2025 aligns with Samsung's typical schedule for flagship foldable smartphone launches in July.
