Live presentation: continuous loop of captivating audio-visual synergy

Last night, the terrace of Arthaus played host to an immersive performance entitled "Infinite Passages: Staging Spaces Between Worlds," a collaboration between artist Matias Duville, philosopher Mohamed Amer Meziane, and curator Anissa Touati. The event is set to repeat tonight at 8 PM, with free admission. The performance features music and videos created by Duville, projected onto illuminated tents releasing smoke, one of his sculptures representing a giant hook adding to the apocalyptic scene reminiscent of his paintings. The exchange between participants resonates like reciting poetry.

According to Meziane, who authored the book "The States of the Earth," the goal is to expand upon a philosophical discussion shared in their work. Meziane addresses climate change and the reasons for the crisis in his book. Touati stated that the event aims to explore the connection between contemporary art and philosophy, different realities, making audiences question their surroundings. Duville believes the rapid succession of images creates a dynamic system that moves people when they believe they have everything under control.

From Wednesday to Friday, the Palacio Libertad will hold another free series of experiences called Pleamar immersive. This cycle will feature music, electronic arts references, video installations, live audiovisual performances, and talks.

For the Infinite Passages event, while details are scant, its title suggests an examination of passages, transformations, and thresholds—concepts central in art that explores ritual, the occult, and personal or collective transformation. The artwork may blur the divisions between performer and audience, real and imagined, or physical and digital spaces. The curatorial intention might be to challenge conventional notions of reality, identity, and place.

The curatorial intention of "Infinite Passages: Staging Spaces Between Worlds" may seek to blur the boundaries between reality, identity, and place, aligning with art that investigates rituals, the occult, and personal or collective transformations. On the other hand, the forthcoming Pleamar immersive series at Palacio Libertad will delve into connections between contemporary art, technology, and philosophy, engaging audiences with music, electronic art, live performances, and talks.
