Longing for my Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, I fervently pray these 4 Z Fold 7 rumors prove accurate:
Got a hot tip? My Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is still the bomb, but with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 dropping next month, I'm all hyped up for some potential upgrades!
From the street buzz, here are four enticing updates I'm hoping to see on the Z Fold 7:
1. A kick-ass camera
During a recent dinner with buddies, my Galaxy Z Fold 6 came up and one Android user asked if they should get one, only to change their mind when I showed them the camera specs. Truth be told, the Pixel 9 Pro had it beat, unfortunately.
The good news is that the Z Fold 7 might bring a major camera upgrade by adopting the 200MP main sensor from the S25 Ultra, which would be a significant improvement from the Z Fold 6's 50MP main. It's not confirmed whether it'll get the rest of the S25 Ultra's cameras, though.
2. A lickity-split screen
A pet peeve of mine with the Z Fold 6 is the odd aspect ratio on its screen, making some apps feel cramped or incomplete on the outer display. That's why I'm stoked the Z Fold 7 might sport a more standard screen aspect ratio, as well as a larger overall size of 6.5 inches compared to the 6.3 inches on the current model. Plus, the main screen could expand to 8 inches, with the device becoming thinner, too!
3. A tank-like build
Rumor has it, the Z Fold 7 may include improved water and dust resistance, which is something my fellow beach-lovers and I would greatly appreciate. The Z Fold 6's IP48 rating just isn't the best in the face of sand and surf. An IP59 would give us more peace of mind, especially when we want to take our foldables for a swim!
4. One UI with a brain
I still can't get over the fact that Samsung made us wait almost a year for Android 15, aka One UI 7. Thankfully, the Z Fold 7 is expected to launch with One UI 8 out of the box (at least, if Samsung's official leaks are to be believed). While it's uncertain if Samsung will improve its rollout speeds to older devices, it's a step in the right direction for better Samsung software support, and I'm all here for it!
If the rumors turn out to be true, the Z Fold 7 could be the ultimate foldable powerhouse, packing a formidable punch with stunning visuals, impressive performance, and unparalleled camera capabilities. Stay tuned for more info and keep those fingers crossed! 🤞
