Lucid AIR now supports Android Auto via an Over-the-Air update, enabling seamless connectivity and integration of your Android device within the vehicle's infotainment system.

In a move to enhance user connectivity and improve the driving experience, Lucid Motor has rolled out an over-the-air (OTA) software update, Lucid OS 2.7.0, for its electric vehicles. This update, implemented in June 2025, brings Android Auto integration to the Lucid Air, enabling owners to connect their Android smartphones seamlessly with the vehicle's infotainment system.

The update allows for both wired USB connections (requiring Android 9 or higher) and wireless connections for compatible phones (requiring Android 11 or higher). This integration projects familiar Android Auto apps onto the vehicle's expansive 34-inch Glass Cockpit display, offering easy access to essential apps such as Google Maps, Waze, Spotify, YouTube Music, Audible, WhatsApp, and more. The system also supports Google Assistant, further enhancing the in-car experience.

The connection process is straightforward. Android phones can pair wirelessly through the vehicle's Connectivity settings, or connect via USB to ports located in the center or rear consoles. Once connected, Android Auto automatically launches on the Right Cockpit Panel for a driver-friendly experience.

Looking ahead, Lucid has confirmed that Android Auto compatibility will be available for the upcoming Lucid Gravity SUV, ensuring a similar level of smartphone integration as in the Air models. The Gravity's curved large screen is expected to offer an even better-integrated display experience for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

This commitment to enhancing user connectivity and experience is evident across Lucid's electric vehicle lineup. Lucid Group, Inc. has launched Android Auto integration across all Lucid Air models, ensuring that every owner can benefit from this upgrade without a dealership visit.

Dr. Jean-Philippe Gauthier, Head of Software Engineering at Lucid Group, stated that the integration underscores their commitment to comfort, convenience, and an uncompromised driving experience. This Android Auto rollout is a significant milestone in elevating in-vehicle digital experiences.

For those interested in setting up Android Auto in their Lucid Air, they need an Android phone running version 9.0 or higher (wireless functionality requires Android 11 or later). Users with Android 9.0 or 10.0 can access the feature using a compatible USB cable. Lucid has published a detailed step-by-step guide in its Knowledge Center to assist users with the setup process.

An active data plan is required for full functionality. The OTA delivery system ensures that every Lucid Air, from early adopters to recent buyers, receives the update without a dealership visit. This integration is designed to minimize distractions while driving, providing a safer and more enjoyable user experience.

While no official release date has been shared for Android Auto in the Lucid Gravity, it will be included in a future update as the vehicle nears production. This integration complements existing smart integration features such as Apple CarPlay, native navigation, and embedded apps in the Lucid OS ecosystem, offering Lucid Motor's customers a truly connected and immersive driving experience.
