Magewell Unveils Director Mini Version 3.0: A Game-Changer for Content Producers

Magewell, a leading provider of video and audio solutions, has announced the release of its latest firmware upgrade for the Director Mini production and streaming system. Version 3.0 brings over 50 enhancements to the compact device, making it an even more powerful tool for content creators.

Nick Ma, CEO and CTO of Magewell, stated that version 3.0 includes powerful new features that add value for customers. One of the key improvements is the refined user interface, designed by Director Mini's lead designer, Mini, which makes working with scene layouts and graphics quicker and more precise.

The new version emphasizes making existing capabilities even better, giving users more control and refining the user experience for greater ease and efficiency. The production toolset has been improved, with remote control capabilities extended to allow control of more aspects from mobile devices and laptops.

Director Mini's input flexibility has been expanded with support for RTSP streams and HTML webpage sources. The integrated graphics capabilities now feature animated titles and lower thirds, and the built-in scoreboard engine includes four new football (soccer) templates with stoppage time and player substitution features.

One of the most exciting additions is the inclusion of instant replay controls in the browser-based web UI. Director Mini now offers new scene presets for easier creation of scene layouts with multiple camera angles and sources. The device is highly acclaimed for packing a large number of features into its small, portable form factor.

In addition, Director Mini can now use NDI High Bandwidth sources with alpha channel as motion overlays in its graphics engine. This feature allows for more complex and visually appealing productions.

Magewell has also made the Director Mini more affordable, reducing its pricing to make its power accessible to a wider range of content producers. The device combines multi-input switching, graphics, streaming, recording, and monitoring, making it an ideal solution for live events, sports broadcasts, and educational institutions.

Director Mini is currently in beta testing and will be available as a free firmware update in the next 30 days. To stay updated on the latest features and releases, check Magewell’s official website or their latest press releases directly.
