Major Developments Announced by Panasonic Connect and Global Partnerships: Updates from Panasonic Connect and Global Partnerships' Sphere

Panasonic Abandons Strategic Partnership, Continues Projector Business Solo

Panasonic Connect, a leading technology company, initially agreed to form a strategic capital partnership with ORIX Corporation regarding its projector business and related operations. The plan was to establish a new company for this business, with ORIX holding 80% and Panasonic 20% of the shares, starting from April 1, 2025 [1].

However, the partnership was mutually terminated on July 3, 2025, due to differences in business expectations between the two companies [2][3]. As a result, Panasonic Connect is now operating the projector business as a wholly owned subsidiary, with a focus on growing the business under its new MEVIX sub-brand for professional visual solutions, including projectors, dvLED, and flat panel displays [3].

Initially, the new company was set to encompass Panasonic Connect's Media Entertainment Business Division and include overseas subsidiaries handling sales in regions such as North America, Europe, and Asia. Meanwhile, Panasonic Connect’s Gemba Solutions Company was to manage domestic sales in Japan [1].

The termination of the partnership marked a departure from the original plan, with Panasonic retaining full ownership of the projector business. The new company, while initially planned, exists but is now fully Panasonic-owned [1][2][3].

| Aspect | Original Plan | Outcome as of July 2025 | |--------------------------------|------------------------------------------------|---------------------------------------------| | Partnership | Strategic capital partnership between Panasonic Connect and ORIX | Partnership mutually terminated | | Company Ownership | ORIX 80%, Panasonic 20% | Panasonic Connect retains full ownership | | New Company Establishment Date | April 1, 2025 | New company exists but fully Panasonic-owned| | Scope | Projector and flat panel display business | Panasonic continues business solo with MEVIX brand | | Geographic Coverage | Global with new overseas subsidiaries | Panasonic handles operations independently |

This decision was made at a board of directors meeting of Panasonic Holdings Corporation. Despite the change in plans, Panasonic continues to move forward with its projector business, focusing on growth and innovation under the MEVIX brand.
