Man Scammed in Online Heating Oil Deal, Police Warn Customers
A man from Kreuztal has fallen victim to a suspected online heating oil scam. He paid a substantial sum in advance but received no delivery, sparking a police investigation.
The victim, a resident of Kreuztal, ordered heating oil online and made a four-digit euro payment. Despite the transaction, he did not receive the heating oil, and attempts to contact the supplier proved futile. This incident has raised suspicions of fraud, with local police launching an investigation.
This is not an isolated case. In the span of a week, police have received two such reports, indicating a pattern of fraudulent activity targeting customers during the new heating season.
The police are currently investigating the Kreuztal man's fraud report, marking the second such case in a week. Authorities urge caution when purchasing heating oil online, especially during the new heating season.
