Manchester's PEAK:AIO Secures £5m for Faster, Energy-Efficient AI Systems
Manchester-based PEAK:AIO, a software company specialising in AI infrastructure, has secured £5m in funding from a syndicate of prominent investors. The company aims to deliver faster and more energy-efficient AI systems, addressing a critical bottleneck in the field. The funding round, led by Pembroke VCT with a £3.7m investment, will be officially announced on Friday.
PEAK:AIO has developed ultra-fast storage systems tailored for AI workloads. Fred Ursell, Head of Investments at Pembroke Investment Managers, believes the company's solution addresses a key challenge in AI infrastructure. The company has already signed up several high-profile institutions as customers, including the NHS, King's College London, the Zoological Society of London, and Los Alamos National Laboratory. Other investors in the round include NPIF II - Praetura Equity Finance. Mark Klarzynski, co-founder and chair of PEAK:AIO, highlighted the inadequacy of traditional IT infrastructure for AI demands.
With £5m in funding, PEAK:AIO is well-positioned to advance its ultra-fast storage systems for AI workloads.
