Mara Aims for RM50M Transactions at MATEC 2025, Boosting Bumiputera Automotive Growth
Mara, a Malaysian government agency, has successfully developed over 5,000 Bumiputera automotive entrepreneurs through its training programmes and facilities. Looking ahead, Mara aims to generate more than RM50 million in transactions at MATEC 2025, its annual automotive exhibition.
MATEC 2025, set to take place next year, has ambitious targets. It aims to increase Bumiputera participation in the automotive industry, promote growth, support sustainability, and nurture talent development. The event expects to attract 50,000 visitors and feature 180 booths from various automotive segments.
Visitors can look forward to test drives of electric cars and motorcycles, along with promotions and discounts. Mara has supported the High Growth High Value (HGHV) sector, including electric vehicle (EV) entrepreneurs like GGR Motor, who may showcase their innovations at the event. MATEC 2025 will expand beyond Mara's ecosystem to include the wider automotive ecosystem.
Last year's MATEC 2024 achieved RM16.6 million in transactions through over 330 business matching sessions and drew 26,550 visitors. This year's edition promises to be even larger, with over 70 more exhibition booths than the previous edition. The event will showcase the latest automotive technology, motoring lifestyle trends, creative modifications, and Gen-Z engagement.
MATEC 2025 promises to be a significant event for the Malaysian automotive industry. With its focus on growth, sustainability, and talent development, it aims to generate over RM50 million in transactions and attract 50,000 visitors. The event will not only showcase the latest in automotive technology but also provide opportunities for business growth and industry networking.
