Marvel's Tokon: Battle Spirits will enter a closed beta testing phase on PlayStation 5 next month, following a triumphant launch at EVO where a famed Marvel Vs Capcom competitor exclaimed, "I can't wait to play more, it's outstanding!"
Get ready, Marvel fans! The closed beta for the highly anticipated game, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, is set to kick off on September 5, 2025. However, there's a twist - the beta will only be available on PlayStation 5.
If you're interested in joining the action, head over to the official Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls page on the PlayStation Store. Once there, scroll down to the "Closed Beta" signup section, click "Register Now", and complete the registration form to join the PlayStation Beta program. During the beta, players can try out six playable characters: Captain America, Iron Man, Ms. Marvel, Star-Lord, Storm, and Doctor Doom. The gameplay experience includes tutorial mode, online and offline matches, spectator mode, and battles across three Marvel's New York City stages.
Despite the excitement surrounding the closed beta, it's important to note that the full game will also be available on PC. Unfortunately, the beta will not feature the other announced characters, Spider-Man and Ghost Rider.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is a 4v4 fighter developed by Sony and Arc System Works, and it's a unique blend of the Marvel Comics world with Arc's signature style. Instead of each character having their own health bar, players manage one bar across four fighters.
Meanwhile, a separate tabletop RPG adventure is also in the works, featuring beloved Marvel characters such as Emma Frost, Psylocke, and Jeff the Land Shark. In this adventure, they escape from the Collector. This RPG is not developed by Sony or Arc System Works, and it's not related to Marvel Tokon.
