Mercedes & Hot Wheels Unveil CLA EQ Toy Car: A Pop Culture Race Classic
California Race Service's workshop has been revamped into a car enthusiast's paradise, with the 1:1 implementation of the CLA EQ model car encouraging both adults and children to engage in playful experiences. This unique collaboration between Mercedes and Hot Wheels will also be showcased at the Hot Wheels Legends Tour in El Segundo, California.
The CLA EQ, set to hit shelves as a Hot Wheels toy in spring 2026, boasts a striking design reminiscent of older DTM models. Its widely flared wheel arches, deeply drawn front spoiler, wide side skirts, and large rear diffuser and wing give it an aggressive, race-ready appearance. However, despite its looks, the CLA EQ is not designed for actual racing and is unlikely to grace a racetrack.
The CLA EQ's vibrant color scheme, featuring bright orange, pink, and blue with oversized flame motifs, pays homage to the 1980s pop culture era. This eye-catching design is a result of a collaboration between Mercedes and Hot Wheels, the die-cast model maker owned by Mattel.
The CLA EQ, a product of this exciting collaboration, is not based on a genuine racing car but is sure to captivate both adult collectors and new enthusiasts when it's released as a 1:64 scale die-cast model in spring 2026. Its unique design and playful spirit make it a standout addition to any Hot Wheels collection.
