Milrem Robotics, Netherlands Donate 150 UGVs to Ukraine

Milrem Robotics, in collaboration with the Netherlands, will supply over 150 THeMIS unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) to Ukraine. The donation, announced in September and confirmed on October 6, involves significant cooperation between Milrem Robotics and Dutch company VDL Defentec.

The vehicles will be assembled in Born, Netherlands, at VDL Defentec's facility, which is setting up a dedicated final assembly line. Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans, Milrem Robotics CEO Kuldar Väärsi, and VDL representatives formalized the agreement in a signing ceremony.

Milrem Robotics will also provide comprehensive training for Ukrainian operators and technical personnel. The new vehicles will join the 15 THeMIS units already supporting Ukrainian forces since 2022. The CEO of Milrem Robotics expressed honor in leading the project and expects the THeMIS platform to strengthen Ukraine's defense capability.

The Netherlands has contributed $59 million to the World Bank's trust fund for Ukraine's recovery efforts. The project highlights the strength of European defense industry cooperation, with potential for future production and innovation between Milrem Robotics and VDL in the Netherlands. Deliveries will be carried out by Milrem Robotics Netherlands in collaboration with VDL Defentec.
