NASCAR Implementing Comprehensive Samsung Surveillance System
Samsung Transforms NASCAR's Race Control Room with Advanced Displays
Samsung is set to revolutionise NASCAR's race-day operations with its latest technology partnership. The South Korean tech giant will be providing cutting-edge digital solutions to enhance the racing experience, operational efficiency, and enterprise processes for the sport.
The centrepiece of the partnership is The Wall, a massive digital display spanning 32 feet in width and 9 feet in height. This installation will significantly improve race control room operations by offering a comprehensive and immersive visual experience. The Wall will be the hub for real-time monitoring of races, displaying critical race data, and enhancing decision-making processes for race officials.
Beyond The Wall, Samsung will also provide other high-quality digital displays to ensure a seamless and engaging experience for both officials and spectators. These displays are essential for displaying race data, tracking performance metrics, and ensuring that NASCAR can analyse and broadcast races effectively.
Officials in Concord will receive live feeds and intercom communications during races through these displays. The ultra-wide, curved Odyssey G9 monitors offer extensive screen real estate for simultaneous viewing and assessment of multiple data sources, while the 25 27-inch ViewFinity S6 high-resolution monitors and seven 49-inch Odyssey G9 monitors will be used for gathering and analysing insights.
The remote race control room will be operational for the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series, starting with the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium on February 2. During races, up to 24 officials in the room will use The Wall to access replays from the SBG Sports Software system, which is capable of aggregating up to 200 camera angles, all driver audio, and voice-to-text transcription of team radio transmissions.
This partnership marks Samsung's commitment to fuel a new era of race-day precision in NASCAR. The implementation of the remote race control room will allow NASCAR officials to make competition calls faster and more accurately than ever before, providing unparalleled views of over 200 camera angles and multiple data points from every car.
