Netflix Gaming once captured my affection, yet it appears to be shattering it now.

Netflix's gaming collection is about to take a hit on July 1 with the departure of popular games. Twenty-two games, including fan favorites like Hades, Death's Door, and the Monument Valley series, are leaving the streaming platform next month.

Subscribers have enjoyed these top-notch games on both iOS and Android devices, but the party is nearly over. You've got just a few days left to enjoy these gem-like games since Hades is leaving on July 1, and Death's Door won't stick around until July 14. It's a bummer that many of these games don't have mobile versions outside Netflix since they're pulling the plug on them soon.

Here's a rundown of the games leaving Netflix:

  • Battleship
  • Braid, Anniversary Edition
  • Carmen Sandiego
  • CoComelon: Play with JJ
  • Death's Door
  • Diner Out: Merge Cafe
  • Dumb Ways to Die
  • Ghost Detective
  • Hades (iOS/iPadOS only)
  • Katana ZERO
  • LEGO Legacy: Heroes Unboxed
  • Ludo King
  • Monument Valley
  • Monument Valley 2
  • Monument Valley 3
  • Rainbow Six: SMOL
  • Raji: An Ancient Epic
  • SpongeBob: Bubble Pop F.U.N.
  • TED Tumblewords
  • The Case of the Golden Idol
  • The Rise of the Golden Idol
  • Vineyard Valley

But not all is lost! Monument Valley 3 is saying goodbye to Netflix but promising a comeback with a regular mobile release that doesn't require a subscription. And the first two Monument Valley games are already available as standalone titles.

Similarly, Devolver Digital has announced plans to bring games like Death's Door and Katana ZERO back to mobile platforms asap. Fingers crossed the same goes for Hades.

So, while it's sad to see some of the best games on Netflix Gaming go, it's not the end of mobile gaming. There are plenty of alternatives to explore, with popular games becoming available individually on iOS and Android and even cloud gaming options.

If you want the full gaming experience without relying on a subscription, consider buying games like Dredge, Stardew Valley, Prince of Persia: Lost Crown, Slay the Spire, and the Kingdom series. And for cloud gaming enthusiasts, services like Nvidia GeForce Now let you play PC games on your phone, but you'll need a fast internet connection.

As Netflix continues to scale back on gaming content, it's wise to explore the wide world of gaming alternatives to enjoy a richer, more stable gaming experience[1][2].
