New season of Spellborne introduces novel mutations and amplifies strategic depth
In the magical realm of Spellborne, players can expect an exciting array of updates, as developers Mon Studios have hinted at expanding transaction features to enhance the gameplay experience.
First launched on mobile in July 2025, Spellborne, developed by Delazoom Games, is available on Android, iOS, and browsers. The game's unique player-driven economy is powered by Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) and the in-game $BORNE token.
The optional blockchain features allow players to engage in tradable NFT markets for monsters, cosmetics, and items, which can be bought and sold on platforms like OpenSea. The $BORNE token, which went live on August 29, 2025, offers players the chance to earn from guild wars, seasonal events, or ranked PvP leagues.
The strategic core of Spellborne is reinforced with the introduction of PvP chests. Players now earn points directly from opening these chests, with the distribution of points being redesigned for a more balanced gameplay.
Spellborne's Season 2 update introduces four new Stage 3 monster evolutions: Pixiu, Megabara, Lupin, and Nuking. To unlock these new evolutions, players need items from PvP chests.
Moreover, the redesign of point distribution shifts the balance towards skill and tactical decision-making. Guilds in Spellborne can control market hubs, adding another layer of economic strategy.
Interestingly, the Season 2 update does not require blockchain features, keeping them optional. However, these features offer an additional dimension to the game, providing opportunities for players to earn rewards beyond traditional gameplay.
In addition to these updates, plans for Spellborne to appear on the Epic Games Store for Windows and Mac have been announced. This expansion will allow a wider audience to immerse themselves in the magical world of Spellborne and experience its unique blend of strategy, economics, and blockchain technology.
