Nikon recognizes four decades of dedicated service with a commendation
In a momentous occasion, Grays of Westminster, a renowned Nikon-only dealer, was honoured with this year's Amateur Photographer Good Service Award to mark their 40th anniversary. The presentation took place on June 11th, and was attended by Muneaki Tokunari, President and Chief Operating Officer of the Nikon Corporation, and Charlotte Kemsley, Regional Director Nikon Northern Europe.
The award, a silver bowl, was presented to Gray Levett, the founder of Grays of Westminster, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the UK photo industry. This is the ninth award that Grays of Westminster has received from Nikon over the years, although detailed records of the eight previous awards are not publicly available.
Gray Levett, who knew Nikon was the brand for him since the first day he picked up a Nikon F camera, expressed his gratitude for this singular and unexpected honour. He also received the Chris Cheesman Award this year, named after the late news editor of Amateur Photographer, celebrating an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the UK photo industry.
The bulging awards cabinet of Grays of Westminster stands as a testament to their significant achievements and recognition in the industry. A particular highlight in their awards received was a glass trophy presented when they became the only camera shop in the world to be granted a Coat of Arms by Her Majesty's College of Arms.
Gray Levett shared that their relationship with Nikon is very special, and he was delighted to celebrate this milestone with them. The event was a fitting tribute to Grays of Westminster's four decades of service, and a promise of many more years of excellence in the world of photography.
