Nintendo unveils upcoming Switch games, Digital Game Cards, and a novel smartphone application in the latest Nintendo Direct broadcast!
The gaming landscape is set to be enriched with a plethora of new titles coming to the Nintendo Switch system. Here's a roundup of the games that are scheduled for release in 2025 and beyond.
July 2023
- No Sleep For Kaname Date - From AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES, a special agent game where players must track down Iris, an internet Idol who has been trapped in a mysterious escape game, launches exclusively on Nintendo Switch on July 25.
- PATAPON 1+2 REPLAY, a remaster of the classic rhythm action games Patapon and Patapon 2, launches on July 11.
- SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered, an HD remaster of the RPG classic, featuring deep storytelling and strategic battles, launches on the same day.
- Shadow Labyrinth, a 2D action platformer and genre-twisting alternate take on the iconic PAC-MAN series, launches for Nintendo Switch on July 18.
- Rift of the NecroDancer launches on Nintendo eShop later today, featuring Cadence and friends in an all new rhythm game with dynamic tag-team fighting, local and online co-op play, and more.
- Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time launches on Nintendo Switch May 21.
August 2023
- GRADIUS ORIGINS, a collection of 17 versions of six arcade classics, brings together GRADIUS, SALAMANDER, LIFE FORCE, GRADIUS II, GRADIUS III, and SALAMANDER 2, launching on August 7.
- STORY OF SEASONS: Grand Bazaar, a farm life experience game set in Zephyr Town, where players can rebuild their farm, participate in the weekly bazaar, and forge relationships with townsfolk, launches for Nintendo Switch on August 27.
Holiday 2023
- The Eternal Life of Goldman is a hand-drawn, story-driven 2D platforming adventure game, launching for Nintendo Switch this holiday.
- Witchbrook is a spellbinding adventure game, where players can enroll in Witchbrook College, craft goods, customize their cottage and garden, and make friends and find love. It launches on Nintendo Switch this holiday.
Summer 2024
- Lou's Lagoon is a system exclusive on Nintendo Switch, launching this summer.
- King of Meat, a hack 'n' slash online co-op game for up to four players, launches on Nintendo Switch this year.
- Everybody's Golf: Hot Shots, a popular golf game series making its debut on Nintendo Switch, featuring a three-button shot mechanic, in-game tournaments, local and online multiplayer, and more, launches on Nintendo Switch this year.
- Monument Valley, Monument Valley 2, and Monument Valley 3 are a series of peaceful puzzle games, with the first two featuring all additional chapters, add-ons, and DLC for the complete experience. Monument Valley 3 sets sail on Nintendo Switch this summer.
2025 and Beyond
- Metroid Prime 4: Beyond features Samus Aran who is transported to the planet Viewros and granted Psychic Abilities, with the game launching on Nintendo Switch this year. (Scheduled for release sometime in 2025, but no exact date has been officially confirmed.)
- Pokémon Legends: Z-A, a new adventure game set in Lumiose City, where players can participate in the Z-A Royale tournament and choose between Chikorita, Tepig, or Totodile as their first partner Pokémon, officially set to release on October 16, 2025.
- Rhythm Heaven Groove, the latest entry in the Rhythm Heaven series, playable on Nintendo Switch in 2026.
- Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, the first brand new entry in over ten years, allowing players to create their own Mii characters and watch them live their lives on an island out at sea, planned for release in 2026 on Switch, no specific date given.
- MARVEL Cosmic Invasion, an action-packed, 2D arcade-style beat 'em up game featuring MARVEL's greatest Super Heroes, launching on Nintendo Switch this winter.
