Nurturing Human Relationships Through Innovative Music Discussions | Pioneering Audio Conversations Podcast
Jay LeBoeuf, an executive, entrepreneur, and educator, has made significant strides in the music and creative technology industries. His groundbreaking work has expanded the capabilities of Pro Tools, the industry standard for digital audio workstations, at Avid Technology, and led to the founding of Real Industry, a nonprofit organisation that empowers university students in the field.
Real Industry, established to address the lack of visibility into music industry careers that LeBoeuf observed among his students, has grown to include 40 colleges and universities in its network. The organisation is supported by a network of hundreds of industry mentors, leading companies, generous donors, and forward-thinking universities.
LeBoeuf serves as the Executive Director of Real Industry, where he leads mission-driven challenges aimed at changing lives in the music industry. His work with the organisation has earned him recognition as a Bloomberg Businessweek Innovator.
In addition to his work with Real Industry, LeBoeuf is a lecturer on media technology and business at prestigious institutions such as Stanford University, University of Michigan, and Carnegie Mellon University. He also advises digital media startups including LANDR, SUBPAC, Humtap, and Kadenze.
One of LeBoeuf's most notable ventures was the founding of Imagine Research, a music technology and artificial intelligence startup. He later joined iZotope, where he became a member of the executive team following their acquisition of Imagine Research.
LeBoeuf's influence extends beyond the academic and startup worlds. He is the driving force behind "Innovating Music," a podcast that brings together unique voices from both within and outside of the music industry for discussions about the future of music technology. The podcast's quote, "The Future is Already Here - It's just not evenly distributed," is often associated with the show.
Real Industry's podcast episodes can be subscribed to on various platforms including Apple Podcasts, iHeartRadio, Spotify, Overcast, Stitcher, TuneIn, Google Play, Soundcloud, and YouTube. The organisation can also be found on YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter (@Real_Industry), and has a Facebook page.
LeBoeuf's work with Real Industry and his contributions to the music and technology industries have not gone unnoticed. In 2020, he was awarded $1.1M in Small Business Innovation Research grants by the U.S. National Science Foundation.
In a world where innovation is key, Jay LeBoeuf continues to push boundaries and drive change, inspiring the next generation of innovators in the music and creative technology industries.
