Catena Media Reports Q2 2025 Financial Results: Stabilisation Efforts Yield Improved Profitability

Catena Media, a leading affiliate marketing company, has released its Q2 2025 financial results, showing a 25% year-over-year decline in revenue to approximately €9.6 million. However, the company's profitability significantly improved with net income turning positive at €0.788 million, compared to a net loss a year ago [1][2].

This improved profitability and relative revenue stability were attributed to the company's stabilisation efforts, including business optimisation and operational restructuring. These efforts involved diversifying revenue sources beyond SEO into paid media, sub-affiliation, and CRM channels, streamlining team structures, adjusting headcount, and unifying its technology stack for scalability [5].

Casino revenue slightly increased quarter-over-quarter despite seasonal challenges, while sports betting revenue declined due to a limited sports calendar but is expected to improve in Q3 with the football season start [5]. June was the most profitable month in Q2, contributing to sustained earnings momentum as the company strengthened its balance sheet by redeeming senior bonds, resulting in a net cash position that should support future growth [5].

The company's CEO, Manuel Stan, predicted that the optimization efforts in Q2 will lead to annual savings of €5.3-5.8 million. He also predicted further improvements and a business boost due to the football season [3].

In addition, Catena Media continued to diversify beyond SEO, divesting its esports assets and earning €1.4 million from the transaction [4]. The share of revenue from verticals other than SEO continues to grow and offset SEO pressures.

The company also announced its strategic focus on adapting content and technology for generative AI search, enhancing CRM and loyalty tools, and strengthening core brands [5]. The adjusted EBITDA and EBITDA margins were 12% and 15%, respectively [7].
