Orange Launches First Quantum-Secure Network Service in France
Orange has launched the first commercial quantum-secure network service in France, Orange Quantum Defender. This innovative service combines immediate and future-proof security measures to protect businesses from quantum attacks.
Orange Quantum Defender utilises Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) hardware to generate and distribute encryption keys. This process relies on the laws of quantum physics, making eavesdropping detectable. Additionally, the service employs Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) software algorithms, endorsed by NIST, to resist quantum attacks and ensure resilience.
The service seamlessly overlays on existing fibre networks and updates as standards evolve. This allows entrepreneurs to secure their business data for decades, meeting long retention obligations. It also provides dual protection against 'Store Now, Decrypt it Later' attacks, a growing threat as adversaries store data to decrypt it using future quantum computers.
Orange Quantum Defender equips businesses with the strongest commercially available defence against quantum attacks. By combining QKD and PQC, it offers immediate and future-proof security. The service is designed to secure data for decades, making it an ideal solution for businesses with long retention obligations.
