Paris Concert Highlights Law-oriented Mixer Consoles as Main Focus
Lawo's IP Audio System Shines at the Concert de Paris
On France's National Day, the Concert de Paris showcased an exceptional audio performance, thanks to the critical role played by Lawo's IP-based audio infrastructure. The event, which returned to its iconic location at the foot of the Eiffel Tower on the Champ de Mars, was broadcast live on France 2 and france.tv, reaching over 2.9 million viewers.
The heart of the system was an advanced Audio over IP (AoIP) infrastructure, featuring three mc²56 audio production consoles. This setup enabled excellent sound mixing and distribution for over 100,000 spectators on the Champ de Mars and millions of listeners and viewers worldwide.
Radio France, led by Christophe Lukaszewski, operated the public address system. They deployed an OB truck equipped with an mc266 MkII console to produce the audio clean feed for French radio and television, as well as for the Eurovision network. The audio infrastructure included three mc256 audio production consoles from Lawo.
At the front-of-house position (FOH), Nadège Antonini handled the orchestral mix and FOH output using a 48-fader mc256 console. Stéphane Thouvenin managed the soloists and choirs on a 32-fader desk at FOH. Stage monitoring was managed by Tahar Boukhlifa and Charles Bouticourt, who operated a 32-fader mc256 with a 16-fader extender in a two-operator configuration.
A redundant pair of A__UHD Core audio engines were shared among the three consoles, with a redundant RAVENNA network integrating FOH and stage. This setup ensured a reliable and seamless live mixing experience.
The Orchestre National de France, the Chœur and Maîtrise de Radio France performed at the concert. Internationally renowned opera singers and soloists, including Aida Garifullina (soprano), Julie Fuchs (soprano), Bruno de Sá (sopranist), Rihab Chaieb (mezzo-soprano), Benjamin Bernheim (tenor), Florian Sempey (baritone), Gautier Capuçon (cello), Dom La Nena (cello), Bomsori Kim (violin), Bohdan Luts (violin), and Saehyun Kim (piano), graced the stage. Cristian Măcelaru conducted the performances.
The concert was simulcast by EBU-Eurovision in more than 10 countries. It was also broadcast live in numerous countries via the Euroradio and Eurovision networks. The event culminated in a fireworks display from the Eiffel Tower and the Trocadéro gardens, providing a spectacular visual accompaniment to the impeccable audio quality delivered by Lawo's system.
In summary, Lawo’s IP audio system ensured broadcast-grade sound quality, seamless live mixing, and reliable multi-platform distribution for the high-profile national celebration event. The system's performance was a testament to Lawo's commitment to delivering high-quality audio solutions for live events and broadcast requirements.
