Police in Rhein-Sieg District Crack Down on Crime in Sankt Augustin Safety Day
On Thursday, September 11, police in the Rhein-Sieg district organised a large-scale safety day in Sankt Augustin. Over 50 officers, led by Police Chief Commissioner Andre Czaika, were on duty to combat violence, street crime, and enhance citizens' security.
Throughout the day, more than 1,000 passengers were checked, with 59 found traveling without valid tickets. In road traffic, 300 people and 230 vehicles were inspected, resulting in 20 drivers being caught using mobile phones illegally. Additionally, over 80 other offenses were recorded, including cyclists using phones while riding.
The operation also focused on speeding, with more than 30 offenses punished using laser measurements. Advisory talks were held on burglary prevention, theft prevention, and safe e-bike handling. Duty group leader Andre Czaika praised the efforts of all participants, assessing the safety day positively.
The safety day in Sankt Augustin saw police tackle various offenses to strengthen citizens' sense of security. With over 1,000 passengers and 300 people and vehicles checked, the operation aimed to make the area safer and more secure for residents and visitors alike.
