BYD FCB Ti7: A New Plug-In Hybrid Off-Roader Hits the Chinese Market

The automotive world is abuzz with anticipation as BYD, a leading Chinese automaker, prepares to release the Fang Cheng Bao Ti7, a new plug-in hybrid off-roader. Unveiled in July 2025, this vehicle promises to shake up the market with its unique features and design.

At first glance, the Ti7 appears to be a large 5-meter SUV. Despite its size, it offers only two rows of seats, accommodating five passengers comfortably. The interior boasts a black and orange-accented cockpit, complete with a large central touchscreen and a multifunction four-spoke steering wheel.

The vehicle's design is inspired by the iconic Land Rover Defender, but with a distinct Chinese touch. It comes in two color schemes: black & white and black & orange. The car's trunk is equipped with several power outlets, making it practical for outdoor adventures.

The Ti7 is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that produces 115 kW (154 hp), combined with two electric motors. The front motor delivers 160 kW (215 hp), while the rear motor produces 200 kW (268 hp), offering all-wheel drive and plug-in hybrid capabilities.

The vehicle features BYD’s Blade battery packs, though the specific battery capacity and electric range have not yet been disclosed. The car's trunk can be expanded by folding the second row of seats, which is a 60/40 split.

The Fang Cheng Bao Ti7 will be available in both RWD and AWD powertrain variants. It has a body size of 4999 mm length, 1995 mm width, and 1865 mm height, with a 2922 mm wheelbase. The vehicle also boasts a large sunroof and features such as roof rails, conventional door handles, a fuel door in the left rear fender, and a LiDAR sensor on the roof.

Photos of the vehicle in Green and Yellow colors were shared by Chinese blogger SugarDesign, giving us a glimpse of the Ti7's vibrant side. The car was spotted in China ahead of its launch, generating excitement among automobile enthusiasts.

The Fang Cheng Bao Ti7 is the fourth model from the FCB brand, which was launched by BYD in 2023. It is set to enter the Chinese market this year, adding another exciting offering to the growing electric vehicle industry in China.

On July 25, FCB officially revealed the interior of the Fang Cheng Bao Ti7. The vehicle does not have a ceiling-mounted screen, but it does have a large touchscreen in the center console with two air vents mounted below. The car's rugged door handles and grab handles are a testament to its off-road capabilities.

The Fang Cheng Bao Ti7 is a unique addition to the SUV market, offering a blend of style, power, and practicality. With its impressive specifications and distinctive design, it is poised to make a significant impact in the Chinese market and beyond.

The Fang Cheng Bao Ti7, with its unique blend of style, power, and practicality, offers a perfect lifestyle for those who appreciate off-roading adventures, equipped with several power outlets in the trunk for gadget charging. In line with the growing electric vehicle market, the Ti7, powered by BYD’s Blade battery packs, can be considered a stylish choice among electric-vehicles.
