Rapha Unveils Pro Team Shadow Collection for Challenging Weather

Rapha has unveiled its latest collection, Pro Team Shadow, designed for racing and training in challenging weather conditions. The range, which includes a jacket and long sleeve jersey, goes on sale on Tuesday 29 September, with Rapha Cycling Club (RCC) members gaining early access. While Rapha generally prioritizes quality and performance, specific environmental details for this collection are not explicitly stated.

The Pro Team Shadow collection boasts a lightweight, breathable microporous membrane for windproofing and water resistance. It combines PFAS-free, weather-resistant fabrics with high-stretch materials, ensuring freedom of movement. The Winter Jacket features three rear pockets and an additional zipped essentials pocket. The range was tested with EF Pro Cycling, receiving positive feedback from riders like Lachlan Morton.

James Stannard, Rapha's Head of Product Management, led the development of the Shadow range. He focused on material choices for optimal comfort and protection. Rapha's first PFAS-free Gore-Tex jacket, launched last autumn, laid the groundwork for this collection. The jacket is priced at £325, and the long sleeve jersey at £275.

The Pro Team Shadow collection, designed for tough conditions, is set to provide high-performance protection and comfort. While Rapha's commitment to quality is evident, further details on the environmental impact of this collection are awaited. The range hits the market on Tuesday 29 September, with RCC members enjoying early access.
