Ray-Ban's New Meta (Gen 2): Detailed Insight into Pricing, Features, Designs, and Key Information
Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) Unveiled: Longer Battery Life, Enhanced Features, and New Designs
Ray-Ban and Meta have announced the release of the Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2), the latest AI glasses in the market. The new glasses promise improved battery life, enhanced features, and a variety of stylish designs.
According to a recent review, the Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) is expected to deliver a real-world performance of about 60% better battery life than the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1. Meta estimates the battery life to be nearly double that of the first-gen glasses, and the glasses will come with a charging case that provides an additional 48 hours of use. The glasses themselves offer up to 8 hours of battery life per charge, with 50% charging achieved in just 20 minutes.
The glasses are available in three base styles: Wayfarer, Headliner, and Skyler. Limited-edition colors are also available at launch, including Shiny Cosmic Blue Transitions Sapphire Lenses, Shiny Mystic Violet Transitions Amethyst Lenses, and Shiny Asteroid Grey with Transitions Emerald Lenses. Customers can choose from 27 different combinations of frame and lens colors, including prescription lenses, transitions, and polarized.
The camera hardware in Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) is the same as the one in Oakley Meta HSTN. The glasses feature a 12MP ultra-wide camera, 2 open ear speakers, a custom 5-mic array, and 32GB of storage. The glasses have Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, are compatible with iOS and Android, and weigh just 52g.
One of the standout features of the Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) is its camera capabilities. The glasses offer a 3K maximum resolution camera, an upgrade from the 1080p on the Gen 1's. The glasses also include a 1200p 60FPS video capture mode.
In terms of functionality, the Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) is launching with enhanced live translation support, including German and Portuguese languages. The glasses will receive a software update later this Fall to add hyperlapse and slow-motion video capture.
Perhaps the most exciting feature is the Live AI feature, which was showcased by Mark Zuckerberg on-stage at Meta Connect 2025. This feature allows Meta AI to see the world around you as you have a real-time conversation with it.
The Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) is currently available in the U.S., Canada, the UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Australia, the UAE, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. The glasses will soon be available in Mexico, India, and Brazil.
The Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses are manufactured by Meta in collaboration with Ray-Ban. Meta is responsible for the AI technology integration, while Ray-Ban provides the classic eyewear design and brand. The glasses are priced at $379 USD, $519 CAD, $599 AUD, £379, and €419.
The Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) represents a significant step forward in the world of AI glasses. With its improved battery life, enhanced features, and stylish designs, it's set to redefine the way we interact with technology.
