Robot combat is set to commence in its initial stage, encompassing 28 participating teams.

The city of Perm, Russia, will once again play host to the annual International Robot Battle on August 23. The event, which takes place at the "Mолот" sports palace, brings together engineers, students from technical universities, and robotics enthusiasts from around the world.

The main goal of the Robot Battle is to determine which machine is the strongest, with the competition consisting of multiple stages. The winners of each stage will advance to the semifinals, but the specific format of the competition remains undisclosed.

A total of 64 teams are participating in this year's event, with representatives from Russia, India, Iran, and Kazakhstan, among others. Russian teams hail from various regions such as the Republic of Bashkortostan, Belgorod Oblast, Voronezh Oblast, Krasnoyarsk Krai, Leningrad Oblast, Moscow, Moscow Oblast, Perm Krai, Saint Petersburg, Sverdlovsk Oblast, Republic of Tatarstan, Tver Oblast, Tula Oblast, Tyumen Oblast, and Udmurtia.

In addition to the main competition, a Mini-Robot Battle is also part of the event. This competition features robots weighing under 1.5 kg, with 12 teams competing in mini-robot sparring matches. The participants and teams for the Mini-Robot Battle have yet to be disclosed.

Foreign participants for the main Robot Battle come from countries including the United States, Germany, Japan, Brazil, and potentially others. India, Iran, and Kazakhstan are confirmed participants. The exact number of international teams participating in the Mini-Robot Battle is not yet known.

The under 110 kg category sees 16 teams battling it out in a separate competition. The specifics of this category, including the format and teams, remain undisclosed.
