In a significant visit to the General Command of Dubai Civil Defence on Tuesday, Sheikh Hamdan, the Crown Prince of Dubai, expressed his appreciation for the exceptional competence and readiness demonstrated by the organisation.

During his visit, Sheikh Hamdan was briefed on several advanced technologies and innovative solutions being utilised by Dubai Civil Defence. One such innovation is 'Shaheen', a drone designed to extinguish fires in high-rise buildings and towers. Another remarkable piece of equipment showcased was the 4500-Wabel firefighting robot, an electrically powered machine capable of carrying loads of up to 400 kilograms.

Sheikh Hamdan also took note of an advanced robotic arm, which increases firefighters' efficiency by up to 40% during rescue and firefighting operations, particularly when using stairs. The 'Explorer Robot', a four-legged robot equipped with LiDAR technology, was presented as a tool used in Dubai Civil Defence for moving autonomously through smoke and creating accurate 3D maps of buildings during incidents.

The Dubai Civil Defence system is being built to be proactive, sustainable, and technologically advanced, aligning with the highest global standards. This commitment to innovation extends beyond equipment, as Sheikh Hamdan tasked the Executive Council of Dubai with overseeing the implementation of a strategic objective to accelerate the adoption of AI, robotics, and advanced technologies by Dubai Civil Defence.

Sheikh Hamdan's visit included presentations on the 'Billion Readiness' initiative, aimed at training and raising awareness among one billion people worldwide on fire safety. This initiative underscores the importance of civil defence services in raising awareness, fostering a culture of safety, and embedding prevention as a strategic priority and a fundamental pillar of development.

Lieutenant General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, who presented Sheikh Hamdan during his visit, expressed his gratitude to Sheikh Hamdan for his continuous support and guidance. He affirmed that this support strengthens the readiness and agility of civil defence, reiterating the organisation's vital role in protecting the community.

The safety of the community and protection of its people and assets remain top priorities for the leadership, according to Sheikh Hamdan. His visit highlighted Dubai's commitment to building a proactive, sustainable, and technologically advanced civil defence system, contributing to making Dubai one of the safest cities in the world.

Dubai Civil Defence has a vital role in extending beyond emergency response to building an integrated system that embodies the leadership's vision for a safer and more sustainable future. The organisation's services play a key role in raising awareness, fostering a culture of safety, and embedding prevention as a strategic priority and a fundamental pillar of development.
