Salesforce teams up with CSC to revolutionise complaint handling in rural areas of India

The Common Services Centres (CSC), a digital inclusion initiative under the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY), has partnered with Salesforce to transform citizen services and enhance digital governance in rural and semi-urban regions.

This collaboration aims to build a more responsive, unified, and data-driven grievance redressal framework. The Salesforce platform, recognized as the #1 CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system, is ideally suited for this purpose due to its AI technology and capabilities.

The AI-powered grievance redressal platform will consolidate citizen queries from various channels, including WhatsApp, email, SMS, and the CSC portal. This unified system will address key challenges in rural grievance redressal, such as long resolution times, lack of transparency, and inefficiencies due to manual and siloed processes.

By providing a data-driven, intelligent workflow, the platform empowers Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) with modern digital tools to resolve issues faster and track complaints transparently. This initiative is expected to boost citizen trust in digital governance.

The AI-driven system also supports scalable and unified service delivery, helping CSC expand its digital public infrastructure to include services like wallet payments, insurance, and telemedicine in rural and semi-urban areas. The Salesforce platform's scalability and design are well-suited for catering to India's diverse citizen base.

Moreover, the platform's multilingual support and mobile-first design are key factors in its potential to scale digital governance across India. The Salesforce platform's Service Cloud, integrated with AI tools like Einstein Bots and Digital Engagement, will be at the heart of this transformation.

Arundhati Bhattacharya, President & CEO of Salesforce - South Asia, stated that the collaboration is a powerful example of how AI can be harnessed to transform governance at the grassroots. Sanjay Kumar Rakesh, MD & CEO of CSC SPV, echoed this sentiment, stating that the collaboration is a step towards building a more responsive, unified, and data-driven grievance redressal framework.

In essence, CSC’s collaboration with Salesforce is a significant step toward bridging the last-mile digital divide, making governance more responsive, transparent, and citizen-centric, especially in hard-to-reach rural regions of India. This partnership is expected to support the development of broader digital public infrastructure, furthering India's digital transformation journey.
