Samsung Electronics has recently released One UI 8, the latest user interface for their flagship devices, initially for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 series on July 9, 2025. The update is now rolling out to the Galaxy S25 series, marking a significant step forward in enhancing privacy and security on these devices.

One UI 8 brings a host of new features, including improved privacy and security measures. Samsung is utilising Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP) for secure, app-specific storage, ensuring that your data remains safe and private. Additionally, the update includes an upgraded PQC system, which improves network protection against new online threats, even on public WiFi.

In terms of customisation, One UI 8 allows users to create their own wallpapers, drawing inspiration from Galaxy AI's suggestions and themes. The new clock design on the lock screen stretches and adapts to match the wallpaper, with the font wrapping around faces or objects, ensuring visibility without disrupting the image. Users can also customise the thickness, size, and colour of the font on the lock screen, adding a personal touch to their device.

Another noteworthy feature is Knox Matrix, which signs users out of risky devices, alerts other Galaxy devices, and offers data protection advice. This feature helps to keep your data secure, even if your device falls into the wrong hands.

The Galaxy S25, the latest addition to Samsung's flagship lineup, has been well-received in 2025. Despite some deficiencies compared to the Plus or Ultra models, it is considered the best small flagship phone of the year. Priced around $800, it offers a solid buy for those seeking a high-quality, compact device.

As One UI 8 continues to roll out to more devices throughout 2025, Samsung users can look forward to enhanced privacy, security, and customisation options, making their devices more personal and secure than ever before.
