Satellite powerhouses SES and Intelsat announce their brand fusion, signifying a daring move in the satellite industry.
In a significant move for the satellite sector, SES has revealed a fresh brand identity, aiming to streamline space technology and become an integral part of the global ecosystem. The transformation comes following SES's merger with Intelsat, which has resulted in a combined fleet of 120 satellites (90 geostationary and 30 medium Earth orbit).
Adel Al-Saleh, the CEO of SES, has stated that the new identity represents a bold promise to transform space into a seamless, accessible part of the global news ecosystem. The company's corporate tagline, "Solve. Empower. Soar.", encapsulates this ambition.
SES now operates the largest fiber network among satellite providers, with global reach through 150 owned and partner teleports and 50 points of presence (PoPs). This enhanced scale, resulting from the merger, will allow SES to invest annually in emerging segments and new technologies.
The new brand identity does not repeat the purpose statement, "Space to Make a Difference", but it is at the heart of the visual identity. The new visual identity includes lowercase italicized lettering and a circular icon, "The Orb", comprising three interlocking circles that represent SES's unique multi-orbit positioning.
According to customer surveys, customers need more than satellite connectivity; they need a space solutions partner with the scale to reach the world and the ambition to redefine what's possible. SES positions itself as just such a partner, ready to support global digital transformation and connectivity news demands.
The merger between SES and Intelsat has resulted in a transformation of SES. With the new brand identity, SES aims to simplify space technology, making it a seamless part of the global news ecosystem. The company's CEO, Steve Collar, who led the company after its merger with Intelsat and introduced the new brand identity, has emphasized that SES's mission is to drive meaningful change through space technology.
SES's new brand identity reflects its ambition to deliver operational excellence and market leadership. The company is one of the world's largest satellite operators, following its merger with Intelsat, and is committed to leveraging its scale and expertise to meet the growing demands of a digitally connected world.
