Scooters with electric power once again cruising city streets of Chelyabinsk
Electric scooter rental services have resumed operations in Chelyabinsk, as confirmed by city residents, according to a correspondent of RIA "Novyi Den." The resumption follows an investigation into inadequate services in the region, during which over 1,500 electric scooters were seized from Chelyabinsk streets.
Meanwhile, the region's investigative committee announced that law enforcement agencies initiated the restriction of these services on May 15. The investigation centered around allegations that commercial organizations failed to ensure proper operating conditions and safety for users. Specific concerns included maintaining safe conditions, identifying transport renters, analyzing and addressing the causes of road accidents, and informing users about the quality and safety of the technical means.
Prior to the resumption, the authorities sealed some electric scooters for ongoing investigative actions. On that same day, the Investigative Committee of the Chelyabinsk region stated that the seized electric scooters would be returned to their parking spots as part of the ongoing investigation.
