Senior Leader in Engineering, Service Center
HubSpot, a leading growth platform, is on the hunt for a seasoned engineering leader to drive the development of their Service Hub, a core pillar of their platform. The successful candidate will take on the role of Sr. Director of Engineering, responsible for overseeing the engineering efforts for the Service Hub product.
Role and Responsibilities
In this role, the Sr. Director of Engineering will lead and oversee engineering teams responsible for the development, scalability, and reliability of the Service Hub products. This includes managing design, development, and deployment pipelines. The individual will drive technical strategy and execution in collaboration with other senior leaders, product managers, design teams, and stakeholders to ensure the product vision is realized with technical excellence.
The Sr. Director of Engineering will foster a high-performing and highly collaborative engineering culture, mentoring engineers and managers, facilitating career growth, and ensuring effective team organization and cross-functional collaboration. They will ensure quality, security, and sustainability of the software systems, especially given Service Hub’s focus on customer service and business-critical operations.
Collaboration with product leadership and potentially other business units such as sales and marketing will be essential to align the engineering roadmap with strategic business goals. The Sr. Director of Engineering will manage budgets, hiring, and resource allocation to maintain efficient and scalable engineering delivery.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have extensive senior leadership experience in engineering, preferably in SaaS or cloud-based product companies. They will possess deep technical expertise in software architecture, scalability, SaaS/cloud systems, and development processes. Proven experience managing teams of engineers and engineering managers, with a focus on coaching and developing talent, is essential.
Strong collaboration skills with product management, design, and go-to-market teams are a must, as is experience with customer-facing platforms, ideally in CRM, customer service, or similar domains (given Service Hub’s purpose). The candidate should demonstrate the ability to develop and execute a technology roadmap aligned with business objectives.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields; advanced degrees or MBA may be preferred. The candidate should also possess strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including presenting to senior executives and influencing across the organization.

HubSpot offers a competitive compensation package and is committed to creating a company where people can do their best work. The cash compensation range for this role is $338,250-$541,250 annually. HubSpot is headquartered in Cambridge, MA, with employees and offices around the world.
The Sr. Director of Engineering will act as a coach and mentor to engineering managers and senior engineers, and they will own the growth, structure, and health of the entire Service Hub engineering team.
