Sonance Unveils James PowerPipe X for Enhanced Concealed Bass Sound Solutions
Sonance, a leader in architectural audio solutions, has announced the launch of the James PowerPipe X Series. This new lineup represents a comprehensive update to Sonance's 20-year-old PowerPipe concept, offering a range of hidden bass solutions with improved low-frequency performance.
The PowerPipe X Series is set to begin shipping in early 2026 and will be revealed at CEDIA Expo 2025. The series includes eight models across four performance levels, each available in both standard and marine versions.
The flagship model, the PPX15, extends down to 29 Hz (-3 dB) with an impressive 88 dB sensitivity. The compact PPX8 reaches 44 Hz with 85 dB sensitivity. The PowerPipe X Series simplifies the model matrix into a clear performance hierarchy, making it easier for users to choose the right solution for their needs.
The PowerPipe X Series delivers low-frequency performance previously unavailable in hidden bass solutions. The PPX15 replaces the James PP15-M, PP12-2, while the PPX12 replaces the James PP12 and PP10 models. The PPX10 replaces the James PP10, and the PPX8 replaces the James PP6-M, PP8-M, and Sonance BPS6, BPS8.
The PowerPipe X Series also offers four distinct trim options for seamless integration into any environment. The Toe Kick trim option has improved airflow for higher SPL, magnetic grilles, and custom length options up to 12 inches.
