Malaysian IT Company NexG Expands Secure Identity Document Production
NexG Bhd, a leading IT service management company based in Malaysia, has announced ambitious plans to bolster its secure identity document production capabilities. The company will invest approximately RM250 million (about USD59 million) to develop an Industry 4.0-ready production plant dedicated to secure ID documents.
The investment will unfold in three phases, each focusing on optimization and efficiency enhancements. Each phase aims to increase annual production capacity to over 15 million units of secure ID documents, potentially adding 50 million units to NexG’s global production capacity upon completion.
The facility will incorporate advanced security infrastructure and leverage fully automated, smart production processes to ensure high product precision and security.
Projected revenue potential, depending on document type, client requirements, and security level, ranges from USD100 million (RM421 million) to USD200 million (RM843 million) annually. The enhanced production facility is designed to cater to growing international demand for secure identity infrastructure.
The investment will be funded through a mix of internal resources, equity fundraising, strategic partnerships, and borrowings. NexG has also formed a strategic alliance with LUN Partners to accelerate global digital transformation, further supporting its identity technology sector expansion.
NexG's executive chairman and CEO, Datuk Hanifah Noordin, views this investment as a means to better serve international markets and advance secure identity solutions. The company believes strengthening production capabilities and establishing a global platform will foster growth and innovation in the sector.
